KPHX Phoenix Sky Harbor Preview Thread 3

Over 100 active, dynamic working jetways have been added, and we've made sure you'll get great performance.

We're getting very close!

Please note that for these screenshots we've disabled taxi lines since they're still work in progress.

And each one is a custom inverse kinematic animated jetway? Must have been tedious work. Great screenshots!

Ohh My Gosh.. I'm loving it.. Look out PHX.. I get this scenery I know I'll deffantly be flying in out of here alot...

Ok, officially guys at FlightBeam.. I want you to know how much I'd like to have a IAH Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport from you guys.. Blueprint's version is dull with no working jetways.. Your glass work on PHX just blows me away & thinking how good you guys did on the glass work making the windows so life like on PHX, I know you'll have alot of fun doing IAH & the E terminal & great that one would come out with you guys doing it.. Plus to have the monorail moving & jetways working would bring my Home Hub of IAH to life.. Especially seeing I make that my home hub in FSX & mostly used airport.. I'd love to have that airport come more to life.. Especially with this new HD stuff !! :)

So please consider doing IAH for one of your future sceneries Please before anyone else decides to redo it.. :)

So far there is only 1 version of IAH out there & its done by blueprint which is ok but it could be better & more livelier because blueprint doesn't add any realistic jetways or monrails & there window texture deffantly isn't like yours.. So there IAH is dull.. I want a more livier & more realistic looking IAH much like your PHX is here..

So far BETA Testers have reported steller frame rate performance.

Yes.. there are HD textures, dynamic jetways and even more polygons than KSFO. However I threw in quite a few tricks into PHX allowing MUCH more detail. Exact performance is hard to pinpoint since we're not done yet, however it will be close to KSFOX (fsx version), perhaps better.

I hope you include KABQ in the poll as well since its another great airport in the southwest that has been overlooked by payware devs for years. Also makes for a nice flight from KPHX and KDFW/KDAL.

PHX is looking great and I will surely purchase this on the days its released. Looking forward to seeing how it compares performance wise to KSFO since KSFO seems to have a little more of a performance hit than a lot of the large FSDT airports. Hopefully any of the new tricks you developed for KSFO might find their way into a future update to the FSX version of KSFO as well as the problem with the taxiway lights in KSFO when the a/c landing lights shine on them and results in the black texture showing underneath. I believe you said a long time ago when I reported it that you would be able to fix in after KPHX is done.

Lets take this issue offline, send me an email: general@flightbeam.net with the addons you are using. In general you should be getting better fps than the default SFO and most certainly better than larger 3rd party airports.

Its been a long time since I have flown into KPHX. Given the enormous number of addon airports I have, I typically try to fly between them so as to get my moneys worth from my purchase. While I may not be at the front of the line for this scenery, you can bet I am pretty darn close to it and cant wait for this destinations scenery to be released. It will be nice to fly into a new destination, and have a new place to fly to add into the rotation of routes I already do.

Will do Mir.

BTW, the comment wasn't in anyway meant to be a hit against KSFO. I bought KSFO when it was first released and have installed the patch(es) after it was released. It does get better performance than the default KSFO which I have often sited in posts both here and in passing on Avsim, and I do enjoy the airport and admire the work you have done and are doing with KPHX. I will send you an email either today or tomorrow in regards to some of the things I have noticed regarding the performance of KSFO vs. other addon airports I have.

I would love to see KABQ done also, I used to fly out of there quiet a bit when I lived in Southern CO to come out to PHX.

Ohh I deffnatly will be voting for it.. There's no doubt in that.. lol :) I want a more livlier Houston IAH than what Blueprint offers... I mean its his choice that he said he wants concentrate more on scenery than allowing AES to work with the Jetways & make the monorails for the airports that have monorails to work but he said, he chooses to concentrate on just his scenery but yet his windows aren't getting anymore realistic than what they have been.. So seeing IAH is my major Hub I choose to make my home in the flightsim world.. I'd rather have a IAH much like your PHX is turning out to be with this HD cool stuff & the way your windows appear so real like, I can only imagine how the E Terminal would look which the E terminal is basically all glass on the main part of it. So if PHX looks this good in HD I can only imagine what IAH would look like & IAH has a monorail that runs from Terminal A all the way to E terminal.. So IAH is deffantly getting my vote as soon as you post the Poll.. I just hope alot of my fellow pilots out there will help me to.. I'm deffantly going to vote as many times as I can for IAH.. :) I want to see Houston IAH shine in HD mode.. :)

I know, I use to fly alot on FS9 to KPHX.. I will be flying alot of IAH-PHX trips on FSX now :).. I still gotta get KSFO too.. I haven't bought any scenery in a long time.. I still want to get KTPA from flytampa too.. Maybe when KPHX gets released I'll just wait & buy both KPHX & KSFO at the same time.. 2 Airports from the same developer & then soon as the new poll comes out.. Supporting of course IAH Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport.. :)

I'm really excited about PHX, especially an HD PHX this is even more awsome.. I must say PHX is one of my favorite stops in the Southwest region.. I deffantly will be doing alot of IAH-KPHX flights.. I know I did in FS9 & I am looking forward to doing alot in FSX... :)

I'm liking PHX Sky Harbor !! :) Re: KATL.. Imaginesim has a really good version of KATL & there going to be updating it pretty soon to reflect changes at ATL like the new Terminal so I really doubt Atlanta will be on the vallet but who knows but truely because ATL has been done so well & has access to AES jetways I really see no reason why to waste FlightBeams time with that one.. IAH because it was done by Blueprint who don't allow there scenery to have anything moving or AES to work with the Jetways & because there scenery is ok but not as impressive as FlightBeams HD quality & the Quality of the textures especially the Glass is one of the main reasons I'd like to see IAH done by Flightbeam to bring out alot more liveliness at IAH seeing its my most used airport.. I really blown away by how PHX turned out & I can see IAH turning to be the same if not better because Flightbeam is only going to get better with the more sceneries they do this too. I can't wait for PHX & I'm tripple excited at the thought If my favorite Texas airport in Houston IAH get done by Flightbeam how impressive & life like it will be & we'll have monorail working & Jetways working in Houston which will bring Houston George Bush Intercontinental IAH to life just like Phoenix Sky Harbor will seem so lively.. I appreciate the fact that you will help vote with me for IAH... After KPHX is done lets get IAH done for us Continental Pilots now United/Continental Pilots out there that fly in & out of IAH alot so we have a much livelier atmosphere when were in Houston.. :)

By the way never taking any business away from Flightbeam but because it has been done so well by imaginesim & because unlike blueprint scenery, Imaginesim now allows for AES to work with there jetways. If your looking for a good ATL check that one out.. I think you'll find the reason why I say I don't really believe ATL will be on the vallet for Flightbeam to do..

I don't know for sure which ones flight beam may choose, hopefully IAH for sure, but here is an idea of what I think maybe on the vallot Pole & atleast 2 for sure have not been touched or talked about by any payware for FSX..

Imaginesim have always used AES from the very beginning, even when they were using a radio frequency on Nav1 to control them. In fact, AES was why they stopped using Nav1 frequencies.

Your right, I almost forgot about those days, been spoiled by AES jetways lately.. I remember those days but at the same time. When they did have Nav1 freq jetways only certain gates worked to best of my memory, not all the gates worked unlike with AES where they all work now.. Glad those days are gone & we have what we have now.. :)

Looking forward to PHX.. Yes I am.. Then looking just as much forward to getting to vote KIAH - Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport to be next airport to be done in HD by Mir & his crew at Flightbeam.. I just know IAH will look just as good in HD just as PHX is turning out to be.. Also going to vote for EWR too in hopes that if my fav Airport KIAH wins that after doing IAH that before anymore voting poles go up that Flightbeam will work on the 2nd place Airport which I hope will be EWR because both IAH & EWR both are 2 Major Hubs for United/Continental especially IAH for South America & Newark for going out to Places like FRA,LHR, & so many other places out towards Germany & other places as well as the East Coast.. Both these 2 major Hubs I'd like seen done by Flightbeam with there HD capability of bringing both these 2 major Hubs to life..

Hey Mir,
All i have to say is: WOW!! :D i swear when this is finished I'm gonna be flying in and out of it every hour of every day!
I love the window gleam and I am also happy to hear that there are going to be moving jetways. If you compare this to the real life one it almost looks EXACTLY the same. Although I do have a few questions:
1. when will the poll for the next airport be?
2.I would really like to know what traffic program you are using for the traffic.
3.What program are you using to develop the airport buildings and objects for this project?
Thanks alot! I cant wait for this!!
