Lighting in p3dv5

Post by abueren » Fri Aug 21, 2020 12:42 pm

Hello,
I made a flight inbound to KPDX. Upon arriving there were no dynamic lights working, even though selected in the file manager. This is quite a surprise to me as the lighting worked in KIAD, KMSP and KDEN. Even more a surprise that I haven't found a topic on this one. Is this only happening to me?
Please help.
Best regards
Adrian

I have seen no issues with DL at PHX. I will give it another try on my machine to be certain.

And yes, you are the first to report any issues at PHX with DL.

I tried again today, uninstalled and reinstalled the newest version - still no lights and this also pertains to aircraft with or without PBR (like AI-Traffic). I also tried in P3Dv4 - no problem there. Also with KDEN oder KMSP in P3dv5 - there are no problems as well.

And just to make sure - I write about KPDX - Portland. Just because you wrote KPHX, it's not about Phoenix.

Thanks

Hello Sammy,
any news on this issue yet? Btw, I've checked out KPHX and SEQM as well and I had no problems with DL on any of these FB airports.

I added two pictures, the one without lights is from P3Dv5, the one with lights from P3Dv4. Both airports were installed with the same installation file from FB.

There were some changes made in lighting parameters in P3Dv5, and it looks like KPDX is due for an update. I've been working on a version of the airport for FS2020 this month, and part of that is making some changes that hopefully will result in better looking lighting in the P3Dv5 version, once I update it. As soon as I have it sorted out, we'll release a patch.
