Flightsim 2020 Installation Problems

Post by newyorkoz » Fri Aug 28, 2020 2:00 am

Hi guys,
l`m seriously lost here, l have installed KDEN, it wont show up. l did do the following delete the 2 files that was told of us but still have the default airport.
So l decided to reset everything, deleted the default KDEN, uninstalled Flightbeam KDEN had the sim reinstall and download the default KDEN l then went back to the files to delete so the system wouldnt try to update. l then went back to contrails and downloaded the Flightbeam KDEN went back to the sim and still the stock airport.

Please help, this is not a good way to install airports why so hard.

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

when you open KDEN in the Contrail App, it should show the installtion path.
It should look like this: "your msfs library path"/Community/flightbeam-kden

For example, the default path looks like this:
"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\flightbeam-kden"

Contrail installs to your MSFS library by default.
In that folder, please verify that the manifest.json and layout.json files exist.
In your Content Manager in MSFS, check if Flightbeam KDEN shows up in the list of installed packages.

If not, please post the installation path of Flightbeam-KDEN here and also attach the following file:
"C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt"
Best regards,
Lars

D:\Flightsim\Community\flightbeam-kden
Went to add the file but it wont let me attach it.

The file says it directed to InstalledPackagesPath "D:\Flightsim" thats what the opt file says.

Hi Paul,

So this issue is quite strange and makes no sense.
Is our KDEN airport installed in that Community folder.. and are the json files in the main directory?
If so, can you post a screenshot of what you see in the sim at KDEN?

Alternatively: When you re-installed the sim, are you sure you specified that same exact location for packages to install?

That's... not Denver International. Try again, enter icao code KDEN in the search bar in MSFS
