Greetings Captains,

It's been very silent here, both at Flightbeam and Jetstream as we've been laser focused on the production of KPHX - Phoenix Sky Harbor International. If you followed us via FSElite's 4-part documentary about how we surveyed this airport, then you know that our primary focus is.. and has always been the most accurate representation possible of this airport, down to the finest detail.

KPHX airport has a very unique layout, which is the primary reason it took so long to get previews rolling. All the major pieces of the puzzle are wrapped together and without all elements (mostly) completed, an early preview would not be a good representation of the product we're making. Now that we're closing on the final large elements of production, we're happy to give you a glimpse of what to expect with this product.

For those interested in more previews, we're posting a lot more extra screenshots in our Discord, under the KPHX channel on Saturday, Oct 17. Be sure to check those out!

Dear Captains,

As many of you know, the first step for Flightbeam and Jetstream in the making of an airport product is stepping into the actual airport itself. The only difference is, this time we brought along FSElite with us and had one of their best shadow us during the entire journey so you can see how it's all done.

The purpose of this is for customers to understand what it takes to build a product. Many underestimate the sheer amount of work it takes to build such a product, from start to finish. During the lifetime of this business, I've lost count of the number of emails I've received asking "what's taking so long, it's just a terminal?".

Well, we initiated talks with FSElite several years ago specifically to address this topic and I invited them to tag along so that they can document the work that it takes to make things such as airport terminals. The permit process alone, takes months.

We invite our customers to be curious about the various efforts it takes to make a product. We're grateful for FSElite for making such a high quality documentary doing just that! The first episode is now available to view on the FSElite website, or Youtube and we very much encourage you to subscribe to their season pass so they can bring more content like this:

The season pass allows you to view episode 2 today (instead of next week), which is where all the juicy action starts to happen. In Episode 2, we do our landside survey before the airside survey.

What about any release information?

In terms of KPHX and production, we're slated to release this year with no specific date set. We're well into production and have made significant progress. KPHX is one of those quirky airports where we can't show previews until the end, due to the layout of the airport buildings (we don't like showing unfinished areas). Release will happen this year, but not at the end of the year. There are some very interesting in-editor previews within the episodes, so we encourage you to follow along! Thanks very much for all of our customers following along and staying patient!
